There is so much to be thankful for, but rarely do we think of these things. It takes but a little thought to bring them to mind, the endless things we take for granted...

I am thankful for each breath of life, the thing I most take for granted. Take a deep breath with me.

I am thankful for music, it lifts me up, swings me round, and gives me great joy. Especially celtic music. Slainte'!

I am thankful for a good read, I have had a few this year and each one is a treasure. Terry Goodkind finishes his Sword of Truth series next year or the year after, and I will be sorry to read the last line.

I am thankful for the SCA because it is a platform for me to explore chivalry and personal combat on a stage that creates unique opportunities. And I do mean unique.

I am thankful for family and loved ones, goodness knows there's few enough people that you connect with in this life. Richard Bach said in Illusions that members of one's true family rarely grow up under the same roof. Surely there's some truth to this. To them I say, "I grok you in fullness."

I am thankful to live in a place where I am free to be who I want to be, to live my own dream. This is a great country, and those that protect its way of life deserve our thanks. Bless you one and all, may the heavens preserve you.

The Spartan 300 Challenge

The Spartan 300 Challenge begins November 24th! Thanks to brother T for coming up with this most excellent idea. I plan on giving this challenge my all, I had already planned on some pretty serious preparations for Gulf Wars in March, and this will fit in nicely. I started last week actually, giving rebirth to my workout and stepping it up at Fighter Practices on Sundays (Society for Creative Anachronism, google it). Go Medieval Martial Arts!!!!
